1. International Terminal (Terminal 1): This is for all international flights in the world.
  2. Domestic Terminal (Terminal D): This is for all domestic flights in the world.
Brisbane terminal D

The Domestic Terminal and the International Terminal at Brisbane Airport are two separate terminals, but the two are conveniently connected by a complimentary shuttle bus that runs on a regular basis.

The international terminal manager’s job is to promote the flow of passengers in the terminal. This involves working closely with ground handlers of the airlines, government, and operations so as to guarantee good operations of the two terminals. It should be important to monitor passenger numbers, particularly the outbound numbers, in order to know the possible peak-hour challenges and to facilitate the movement of the crowd.

The current passenger traffic is very low compared to the recent past, leading to a very different operational environment. There are fewer travelers; therefore, it has transferred its interest to freight operations and hosting of charter flights that are not given activities in the airport.

The latest ones are that Nepal Airlines and a few charter companies have been welcomed, and procedures such as setting up check-in systems and all the requirements of their first time of operation were met. Such special difficulties have introduced new experiences and a new vocational style of working.

Continuous renovation activities on the Domestic Terminal of Brisbane have caused the modification of the frequency of passengers accessing significant sections such as check-in, bag drop, and security checks. To maintain the proper flow of operations as the airport makes upgrades to the terminal, it has implemented some changes that are temporary in nature.

The check-in and bag drop areas are temporarily changing depending on which airline:

Qantas & Qantas Link: The bag drop, and check-in are still in their locations, yet passengers now have to pass through the new temporary northern security screening point.

Jetstar: Jetstar has been transformed by its check-in and bag-dropping facilities to a different temporary northern terminal, in front of the Qantas entry. The northern security screening point is also used by Jetstar passengers.

Virgin Australia, Rex, Alliance, Link Airways, National Jet Express, and Aerlink: The passenger traveling under these airlines must access the Virgin area through the entrances of the terminal at the Virgin area to do their check-ins and bag drop. The temporary security checkpoint of these airlines is located on the south end of the terminal, which can be accessed by doors opposite baggage claim 7.

Brisane airport parking

Drop-off zones and parking options have seen a change as well due to the construction:

Drop-Off Zones: The drop-off road should be Zones 1 (Light Blue) to Zone 3 (Dark Blue) at the beginning of the drop-off and pick-up road for passengers flying with Qantas and Jetstar. For passengers who are being flown by Virgin Australia, Rex, Alliance, Link Airways, National Jet Express, or Aerlink, the areas between Zone 6 (Yellow) and Zone 7 (Green) located at the end of the road have been declared the drop-off zones.

P2 Car Park Expansion: The P2 car park is also in the process of expansion to increase its number of parking spaces to 1,700. The growth will create additional parking spaces in the future, but, in the meantime, there will be traffic jams due to construction.

Other Car Parks: There are other car parks available to prevent the construction influence delay as off-site car parks, such as AIRPARK. AIRPARK has free bus transport to the terminal and is reasonable in case of oversized vehicles, since some of the oversized parking spaces and queues at the airport are temporarily unavailable.

Park Short: Park Short is a short-stay car park, ideal when you are collecting passengers and only require a short amount of time to park. With the first 30 minutes free, there are 250 spaces, and it can be found on Level 2 of the P1 car park.

The Domestic Terminal at Brisbane is characterized by two levels that take on different functions:

Level 1: The one that provides services in terms of dining and shopping, entrance to the car parks, and other facilities to the passengers of the airport. You may use restaurants, cafes, and retail shops in case you have time before your flight, or you are early.

Level 2: The security clearance areas and gates to Qantas, Virgin Australia, and the central section of the terminal are located on the upper level, where passengers will find their gates. This is where you get to after you have checked in and dropped off your bags.

The Domestic Terminal of Brisbane is where there are a number of airlines serving the local flights. These include:

  • Qantas
  • QantasLink
  • Jetstar
  • Tiger Airways
  • Virgin Australia
  • Corporate Air
  • Rex
  • Alliance
  • Link Airways

  • Take a look behind the hoarding as the new mezzanine level comes to life inside the terminal.
  • This will provide direct access from the skywalk into the terminal for checked-in passengers with carry-on baggage.
  • Due for completion at the end of the year, watch this space!

  • 2. Graze Grill & Bar
  • 3. Watermark Books & Cafe
  • 4. Glasshouse Bar
  • 5. Aviation Pier Cafe & Bar

BNE Domestic Terminal has a breakfast for people:

Visitors will come into Brisbane and get out of Brisbane through the airport, which is the first and last thing visitors see. It is not just a travel site; this is the chance to establish an experience, a memory, and the feeling of the pride of the people and another city.

The Domestic Terminal is currently receiving a big overhaul worth 40 million dollars. In this redevelopment, there will be:

The new shops were more than divided into 50 shops, including both new shops and remodeled favorites.

  • Modernized toilets
  • Better departure lounges
  • A refreshed food court of new eatery choices

The airport is never closed; thus, the redevelopment needs precise and 24-hour planning. Currently, there are 13 work sites in existence. Most of the work is done at night so as to minimize disruption, although activities are carried out during the day, bearing in mind the thousands of passengers through the terminal.

Brisbane terminal D passenger facilities

The aim is to build a real Brisbane feel. This also involves collaborating with customized brands and prominent local restaurants to present a glimpse of the culture of the city.

The redesign will provide a line of sight of the aircraft aprons, so Travellers can sit back, have a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, and enjoy seeing planes take off and land—their wait at the airport being turned into a special and unforgettable experience.

Will there be a new terminal when the new runway opens?

There won’t be a new terminal, and day one went around my openness, but over the next three to five years. There are a number of initiatives planned that will be in both the international and domestic precincts to respond to capacity or changes in airline requirements or innovation. Beyond that, we do have an area set aside between our runways next to the domestic terminal in both the north and the western directions to create their capacity.

Now I will tell you what the airport will be like in the future:
